Code Review

When your Microsoft partner delivers a new version of your solution, you are testing it before accepting it. But you should also have the code changes reviewed by an independent expert. This is what I am offering to do.

Code Review of Deliveries.

Peer review is an effective way to improve the quality and robustness of your code.

A code review is a process where a developer reviews the code changes made by another developer. This is typically done at the time where the code is ready for testing. Once the code has been reviewed and the functionality has been tested by the users, the code is ready to be put into production.

Here is a list of things we would check before accepting a delivery.

• Are all the right code checks in place? Performance, vulnerabilities, potential run-time errors, etc.
• Have the automated tests been run? Validating that new and existing functionality is working as expected.
• Have automated tests been developed for the new functionality?
• Is the code well organized and easy to understand? Avoiding accumulating technological debt.
• Are the standard guidelines followed?
• Is the version number updated on the package?
